Remember the Poor

The Remember the poor work in Ghana, which is administered centrally from City of Grace Church in Ho (the Apostolic base in Ghana) has continued to grow and now extends to the Republic of Benin. The fund supports people in three areas: Education, Skills Acquisition/Training and Rural Uplift (helping people to start small businesses or enlarge what they are already doing). The fund, which is a poverty intervention to release people from poverty, normally gives between 500.00 Cedis to 1500.00 Cedis for Rural Uplift except the team judges a case to deserve more than that like buying a used Rickshaw for 12000.00 cedis. But for skills training it depends on the skill training cost and duration.

The scope of the poverty intervention work increased because of certain needs that could not be overlooked, to include help for leaders in the church to rent or renew their rent for accommodation. Also give educational support beyond basic education to emerging leaders to acquire skills like marketing and finance in the university. Also support people in the church who have suffered terminal diseases like kidney failures.

Compassion

COMPASSION PROJECT

We continue our partnership project called the City of Grace Child and Youth Development Project (COG-CYD) with Compassion international. This project sees children in the community matched with overseas financial sponsors, supporting the children with their education, medical insurance for health care, and their other physical needs, alongside encouraging them to know Jesus. The project employs three staff members – project director, social worker and accountant – who work full time alongside children and their families.
